Heritage Parts Centre can supply a wealth of VW Mk2 Golf Steering parts for all varieties of Golf and Jetta produced 1983-1992. From a simple Mk2 Golf steering rack bush through to a brand new steering wheel for Golf Mk2 from top brands such as Nardi and Momo, we have it all ready to ship to you!
Controlling which way you steer are the Golf Mk2 tie rods, or track rods. Attaching to your Mk2 Golf steering rack at one end, they are bolted to the front hub assembly at the other. Subsequently when you turn your Golf Mk2 steering wheel the track rods for Mk3 Golf pull or push the front hub, and in turn the road wheels and you steer in your chosen direction. Should they be incorrectly adjusted you can experience uneven tyre wear and a car that doesn’t steer straight, which is both annoying and unsafe.
You will find Mk2 Golf steering rack boots fitted to your car regardless of whether it is LHD or RHD. They are designed to stop dust and dirt entering into the steering rack and causing damage. These boots are held in place by spring clips. Over time the Golf Mk2 steering rack boot will perish and split which is considered an MOT failure in the UK. As you’d expect, Heritage Parts Centre carries these in stock, and can supply you with new one, along with any other Steering rack parts for Mk2 Golf that you may require.
If you are shopping for a new Mk2 Golf steering wheel, then check out our range from Nardi and MOMO. Whether you fancy a leather clad sports steering wheel or a more classic wood rim to help you change direction, Heritage has it in stock. You will also require a Mk2 Golf steering wheel boss to attach it, but don’t worry we stock these too!

Overall the new Jetta was a more refined car, with room for 5 as opposed to the 4 of the Mk1, and moves had been made to reduce vibration transmitted through the engine mounts. One of the strangest accolades afforded to the 2nd generation Jetta was that of "Car of the year" as voted for by the North American Farmers Journal. Production of the Jetta continued to until 1992, when it was replaced by the Vento in Europe, and the Jetta III in the US.
Products supplied may occasionally vary from pictures or brands shown on this website but will always be of equal quality and value.
