Looking for a set of pistons and barrels for a 1966 VW Beetle 1300cc...OEM stuff or aftermarket is fine! This car is all original, motor got really hot and ruined the pistons and barrels! How much in American dollars and what does it cost to send to Green Valley, Illinois...in the United States? Thank You for your time!

In what model VW were these lower compression pistons used? If used in the beetle, why was a lower compression used ? I note the Mahle model does not have a compression lowering dish in the piston's top.

Lower compression pistons would of been used in industrial and countries with low octane fuel. VW parts system doesn't go into much detail

I'm considering using these pistons. For gasoline comparisons, do you know in which countries these pistons might be popular. Here in California, USA, our lowest octane fuel is 87 octane. Mexico, I have read, has an 86 variety.
I would prefer the higher compression Mahle piston but am beginning to despair of ever seeing a set for sale, having waited for months now.

We mainly sell them in Europe where the fuel is 95 octane.
