What is the production brand name of this distributer? Will it match 30/31 and 34 pict carbs?

They are un-branded but the quality is good. Providing the vacuum port is connected this distributor will serve you well.

If you have a standard bottom pulley, there will be a TDC notch in the rear outer section but it's always recommended to use a specialist garage if unsure. We have stock of the distributor

Afternoon- really boring question for you...
The part number doesn't appear on any non-vendor sites, so is the "R" at the end your own code for reproduction/replacement etc.? Is the centrifugal/vacuum advance spec from this the same as an 043 905 205 without suffix i.e. 8-12º vacuum, 20-25º centrifugal?

Question by: Simon Dixon on 19 Jun 2019 15:25:00
That's correct. Many years ago we stocked Genuine as well as a reproduction so we used the R to differentiate suppliers. It does have the same characteristics as the 043905205

Question by: Glenn Collier on 22 Feb 2018 13:55:00
This distributor will work just fine with your engine/carburetor as long as you have a take off on the carb or intake manifold for the vacuum advance.

I have a dual advance vacuum distributor for a type 3. You cannot buy these new so will this single advance fit and how?

Question by: Matthew Chambers on 17 May 2019 22:31:00
I'm afraid we don't have a huge amount of info on Type Three application. We think, that if you fit a single from 1 carb and block off the other, it should operate.

On a dual throat Carburettor, cylinders 1&2, 3&4, will one vacuum line from one side work.

Question by: Hans J Seyffer on 26 Apr 2019 10:14:00
Taking the vacuum from one carb will be fine as long as the vacuum port on the other carb is blocked

After years using an 009 distributor and its lousy advance adjustment I have decided to go back to the vacuum advance carb. Trouble is I can´t find my metal tube/pipe that links carb and distributor. I can´t see it advertised anywhere. Can I use air hose or make my own ?

Question by: Chris Wheatley on 15 Dec 2017 19:42:00
Due to the vacuum an air hose will tend to collapse. VW specify a 3mm ID solid line
