David - Managing Director - 1974 Trekker

About the vehicle -

David's Trekker arrived at VW Heritage in 2008 after being sat in a basement in Switzerland for nearly 10 years! Since its arrival, a set of 2" dropped spindles have been fitted to get it nice and low, it's rolling on SSP 2 Litre wheels and the whole thing is pushed along by a 1641cc Street Power 2 engine with 40mm HPMX carburettors. It's a real head turner.

Andris - Warehouse

This 1965 Beetle made it all the way from Latvia in just a couple of days. Andris now uses it everyday! Read more...

Andris - Warehouse - 1965 Beetle

About the vehicle -

Andris drove this Beetle back from his home in Latvia in just a few days. After a bit of an engine service and a general check over he set off on his 1500 mile trip. He now uses the car daily and has been super reliable.

He can often be seen in the VW Heritage car park having a tinker, only a few months ago he had the crankcase split on a pallet and rebuilt it in a few hours! That's some commitment. The Beetle is currently running a 1384cc motor with a engle 110 cam.

Future plans involve a fully rebuilt 1600cc motor (to make the daily commute a little less dreary), possible lowering job and some SSP Alloy Wheels

Nigel - Engine Specialist - 1972 GT Beetle

About the vehicle -

Our engine specialist Nigel has owned his GT Beetle for 20 years! In that time it's received a huge amount of work. A full repaint was completed by Nigel, as years of using it daily and a bit of a prang had taken its toll on the bodywork.

Possible the most radical change can be found under the engine lid, where you won't find an air fed 1600cc, but a watercooled 2100cc Waterboxer motor. The car is running an Emerald ECU and throttle bodies, which helps this old GT push out around 125bhp!

Dave - IT Support

This car belonged to a customer of ours, when it came up for sale Dave happened to be on the market for a Beetle! Read more...

Dave - IT Support - 1965 Cal-Look Beetle

About the vehicle -

When a customer called our Sales team saying he had a 1 owner from new Beetle for sale, we thought it was too good to be true!

Our IT Support and Web Design guy Dave took the drive to Woking and bought the car on first impressions. All the parts were loaded into the car and then trailered back to Worthing. Only a bit of welding was required and the car took 6 months to get it to MOT stage.

It's was MOTd and driven for a year until an argument with the outside tap took its toll on the Bug's offside front wing. The car was taken back off the road to repair the damage and within a week the task had escalated into a complete strip down ready for a repaint.

A further 18 months and the car has been complete repainted, new TMI headliner fitted by Dave's mate Arron and lots of other finishing touches. Rolling on Polished SSP GT5 Spokes, 4" Narrowed and Adjustable beam with dropped spindles and rebuilt king and linkpins, lowered 1 spline at the rear. The engine is a rebuilt 1600cc to help push it a little faster than the stock motor allowed, with a stock exhaust system to help keep in car conversation at a sensible level. Interior is off white smooth vinyl with sand tweed inserts, with oatmeal carpets and a trick stereo install.

After the butt of the office jokes for the longest restoration, Ben's 1303 is finally on the road! Read more...

Ben - Trade Sales - 1976 Cabriolet Beetle

About the vehicle -

After buying the car more than 10 years ago, it became apparent that the vehicle needed more work than initially thought. Over the last few years the car has undergone a nut and bolt restoration. No rot was left untouched as new metalwork was welded in. After months of joking about the length of the project and even an award for it, Ben's beetle finally turned a wheel on the public roads once again. It's running a rebuilt 1600cc Twin Port, replica Porsche gas burner wheels. Great fun for the summer!

Jo - Product Development

Jo has owned her bus for 7 years and her Bug just 12 months and both have undergone a full restoration, one stock, one wild! Read more...

Jo - Product Development - 1957 Standard Split Bus, 1970 Beetle

1957 Split

Jo and Martin's 1957 Split Bus is a result of years of hard work and long weekends. It was sold to them in 2004 by the previous owner on the agreement that the bus was to be restored, but not modified in anyway.

The previous owner had posession of the 1957 camper for 37 years after getting hold of it from a Bognor Regis based band called 'The Southbeats'. Sadly the previous owner decided he couldn't take on the work himself, so Martin and Jo snapped it up.

The bus has received extensive welding work and a full respray in Dove Blue. Inside, campers are kept comfortable with a replica devon interior with all the fittings.

1970 Beetle

'Ferdinand' the Beetle is the latest addition to Jo's collection. Her Manx buggy wasn't sensible enough as an occasional commuter vehicle so it made way for a Beetle in need of a bit of love.

As these things always end up, the little Bug ended up with a host of welding including heater channels, floor sections and other common areas. All the welding is done to a very high standard, as is the striking blue paint (matched to the colour of her Kayaking helmet!)

There are lots of nice custom touches including 4 wheel disk brakes, custom wiring loom with 2 electric fuel pumps (one for backup) and black detailing where chrome once would have been. Pushing it along is a 1679cc with twin 40mm Dellorto carburettors and is sitting pretty on some of our SSP Slotmag alloys.

It's used on a daily basis, so if you see it, give Jo a wave!

Name - Jo
Job Title - Online and Print editor
Dream VW - Her bus!
Favourite Food - Dhal Bhat
Favourite Music - Anything really!
Other Interests - Kayaking, her Malamute puppy!

Aurelie - Trade Sales

Sadly we can't feature all 10 of Aurelies classic VW collection at the moment, so we decided to pick 2 of our favourites. Read more about it here...

Aurelie - Trade Sales - 1951 Beetle, 1967 Split Screen (Ex Ambulance)

About the vehicle -

Aurelie has worked at Heritage for 3 years now, and in that time built a hugely impressive collection of cars. When she first started she had the 1951 Beetle and her 1967 Split screen bus.

1967 Splitscreen Bus

The Splitscreen has been in Aurelie's ownership for 8 years now, in that time has had an extensive rebuild. As we all know, stance is everything with modified Air-cooled VWs, and this one ticks all the boxes. It's sat nice and low over the Chrome SSP Fooks thanks to some dropped spindles and a 4" narrowed beam. It's tracking straight and steady thanks to the addition of a steering rack conversion and also eliminates the problem of smashing the steering box everywhere she goes. A camper wouldn't be a camper without a comfy bed, so Aurelie has installed a Rock 'n' Roll bed.

1951 Beetle

The Beetle has been in Aurelie's collection since 2009. It's a tatty but very solid example, and she loves a good rat look! The Bug is running the stock 30hp engine, which has done thousands of trouble free miles from country to country!. It's running very low, (there's a bit of a theme here) on some SSP Sprintstar wheels, 6 inch narrowed beam.

Sadly we don't have room to fit pictures of the 10+ strong fleet of classic VWs that Aurelie currently owns! But, keep an eye out at some shows are you're sure to see them eventually. Given away by her pet Pot Bellied Pig 'Brutus' sat in the passenger seat! (seriously.....)

About the vehicle -

Nigel has had a long interesting list of VWs over the years, prior to this great 1974 Bay Window he had a Karmann Ghia Cabriolet. Naturally the Ghia wasn't very practical to cook and sleep in so the decision was made to move it on and look for a suitable bus. Many a family holiday has been enjoyed in the Bus, powered by a 2.0 Type 4 Fuel injected motor, the next holiday arrives a lot faster than before too!

About the vehicle -

This awesome 356 is one of many VAG group cars our eBay guru Gary owns. The vehicle has been in his ownwership for 10 years now. In that time the car has seen a fantastic full repaint and rebuild, new interior and a rebuilt 1720cc 912 engine running Twin 40mm Weber carburettors and a Bursch exhaust system. Alex - eBay Sales

Alex bought his 1969 Bay on Valentines day 2008 and it has been his love ever since. Read more about it and the owner here...

Alex - eBay Sales - 1969 Bay Window

About the vehicle -

Since the day Alex bought the '69, it's always been a rolling project. In 2009 the bus saw a complete repaint by his friend at a nearby restoration company. The van then received a narrowed front beam and some Erco's for the rear wheels, this enabled some massive 205/70 profile tyres. 2010 the bus was kitted out with a full camping interior as Alex likes sleeping in this van almost as much as he likes driving it!

The most interesting aspect of the bus lays in the back, more specifically the engine and drivetrain. It's being pushed along by an Autotechniks 2276cc Motor with an FK10 cam, 044 Heads and Weber 48IDF Carburettors. This is bolted up to a Cogbox built 091 Gearbox with a super diff and a longer 4th gear to help on the motorway.

The van gets regularly drag raced and the best pass so far clocked in at 15.2 seconds @ 81mph at Das Drag Day 2011. If you see him, give him a wave....He's a jolly nice guy!

Tara - Purchasing Co-ordinator

Boris the Beetle and his owner Tara have been a member of the VW Heritage family since 2008, although one of them left for a brief world tour! (it wasn't the Beetle). Read more about the car and owner here...

Tara - Purchasing - '72 Beetle

About the vehicle -

Tara has owned Boris the Beetle for about 6 years now, and in that time the car has seen a complete restoration. Unfortunately the car was involved in a bit of an accident in 2007. This prompted Tara and her dad to get their hands dirty and give the car a complete overhaul.

In that time it received a body off restoration. The floorpan has now been made safer with the addition of disk brakes front and rear and an reconditioned front beam. It's sitting lower at the front thanks to some dropped spindles and kept on the road with some Silver and Polished Empi 8 spokes. Tara can often be found organising wild VW Heritage nights out or under a pile of paperwork!
