Full Width Front Beams

All RHD axles are converted from LHD using new parts. Complete beams are built using new beams with remanufactured arms, spindles and new ball joints or kingy & link pins.

Complete adjustable beams have 22° of adjustment up and 22° down (and have standard ball joints fitted if applicable). Bare adjustable beams have 45° of downward adjustment and require long travel ball joints for their lowest settings.

PLEASE NOTE: Complete early front beams (king and link pin/drum brake) and complete standard height late front beams (ball joint/dsic brake) are not currently available. Please call for details of the available components required to build these beams.

Narrowed Front Beams

Narrowed by 2 inches - These allow for use of wider tyres and have greater tyre-to-wing clearance. They reduce track width when using dropped spindles.

No body modification is required to fit and the beam includes Puma adjusters, which allows you go from standard height to a full 3 1/2 inch drop. beams are bare but include bearings.

PLEASE NOTE: IS fitting a narrowed beam, don't forget to order your narrow leaf springs and anti-roll bar!

Beetle Torsion Leaves

A: New replacement torsion leaves. Standard width leaves are sold in 'single tube' packs (ie: 2 packs are required per front beam), narrow leaves are sold in 'double tube' packs (ie: only one pack is required per front beam)

Front Axle Bushes - Outer

Polyurethane replacements for the original style bearings and bushes which are cheaper and easier to replace. Original style oil seals are no longer needed after fitting these bushes.

Caster Shims and Bolts

These important little items restore correct steering geometry on lowered beam axle Beetles, curing common problems such as light and wandering steering. Fit one pair to start with and add more if necessary.

Sway-A-Way Adjusters (Beetle)

Sway-A-Ways require more cutting and welding to fit than the Avix style adjusters, but are easier to adjust once fitted. Please be aware of some ground clearance issues on very low cars. Sold individually (2 required per beam).

Avix Adjusters (Beetle)

Avix adjusters are easier to fit than Sway-A-Ways, but are more difficult to adjust once fitted. Please be aware of some ground clearance issues on very low cars. Sold individually (2 required per beam).

Albatross Adjusters (Bus)

Bus Boy's Albatross Adjuster - The original and best adjuster for Type 2 vans and campers. Fairly difficult to fit, requiring the front beam to be removed, plus some cutting and welding. Supplied in full axle kits with instructions.

Please Note: Type 2 front axles are very heavy - please take care and seek appropriate assistance during the installation of these parts.

Beetle Dropped Spindles

These offer the quickest solution to lowering a beam axle Beetle. Quite easy to fit, they lower a car by 2.5 inches.

They also push the front wheels out by around 0.5 inches on ball joint models. This can cause clearance problems on cars fitted with wide alloy wheels. Not recommended for Karmann Ghias. Sold in pairs.
