Progressive 32/36 Carb Kits for 1300cc - 1600cc

Very popular conversion suitable for stock and mildly tuned engines. Improves power and returns good miles per gallon. Fits all twin port upright engines and with special end castings can fit single port engines as well, excluding 1200cc.

Kit includes carburettor with electronic choke, centre manifold, airfilter and linkage. Beetles with early engine lids require stand-offs to use this kit.

(Please note: Not suitable for cars fitted with pre 1966 engine lids without stand-offs)

Type 1 / Type 2 - Single Port or Twin Port

Twin 34 ICT / 34 EPC Carb Kits

These combine the performance of twin carburettors with reasonable fuel economy.

Kits are supplied complete with the best quality hex-bar linkage, with thick steel mounts, aircraft quality heim joints, coil relocation bracket and all hardware and gaskets.

All carburettor kits are supplied calibrated for air-cooled engines, but may need fine-tuning to individual requirements.

Twin SCAT Solex Carb Kit

These kits use a Solex carb - either 35mm or 40mm without chokes or 35mm with electric automatic chokes. Kit includes manifolds, centre swivel linkage, airfilters and hardware. For Beetle or Bus.

Will not fit with standard fanhousings, requires a 36hp style shroud.

Twin EMPI Solex Carb Kits (Kadron)

This kit utilises Brosol/Solex 40mm single choke carburettors, which used to be supplied with Kadron carburettor kits.

Good for power but not so good for fuel consumption when compared to smaller single barrel carbs. Now available with electric chokes. Supplied with manifolds, linkage, airfilters & hardware.

Weber IDF / EMPI HPMX Carb Kits

The best carbs for street and strip. One butterfly per cylinder allows for precise tuning and great power. In 2004 Weber went out of business and EMPI started manufacturing their own version of the famous Weber IDF carburetor called the EMPI HPMX.

HPMX carbs are of equal quality to Webers and look the same, but EMPI have engineered improvements to produce more power: in a ‘Hot VWs’ article an 1835cc engine produced 7.35 more bhp with HPMX carbs than the equivalent genuine Weber IDF!

All spare parts such as jets, venturis etc are interchangeable between both brands of carburetor. These carburetors do not have chokes. Kits include manifolds, hex bar linkage, oval air filters and hardware.
