Remtec Europe

Remtec was originally established by Volkswagen of South Africa in 1963 to undertake the remanufacturing of VW engines and VW engine parts to the stringent quality levels demanded by Volkswagen. To this day it remains the exclusive supplier of remanufactured engines throughout South Africa to not only VW, but also General Motors, Ford, Land Rover and Nissan. Following the company's independence from VW in 1995, a unique collaboration with VW Heritage resulted in the formation of Remtec Europe. Led by a fully qualified mechanical engineer and offering a generous warranty and full after sales service, Remtec Europe is now one of the UK's largest suppliers of remanufactured VW engines.

Remanufactured VW engines for sale

We offer a wide range of replacement VW Beetle engines, perfect for customers who want to keep as close as possible to original VW specification. These range from pre-67 style 6 volt 1200cc single port engines, to the late 70's style 1600cc twin port versions.

For air-cooled buses and vans we offer an extensive range of VW Camper Van engines, ranging from 1500cc single port Split Screen engines, to the 1700 - 2000cc 'Type 4' engines fitted to late bay windows and early T25's.

We now also stock late T25 VW Camper Van engines, including 'waterboxer' (water cooled) engines and the diesel version, as well as higher-powered Mk1/Mk2 VW Golf engines.

In addition to our remanufactured range of 'classic' VW Engines for sale, we also stock a range of VW engines with brand new components, including 1600cc 'premium' engines with brand new crankcases, and 100% brand new genuine VW engines, supplied to us direct from VW Mexico.

Or, if it's more power you're looking for, then our Street Power Motor range is for you - either our 1641cc SPM 1 (great results when used with a 4-into-1 exhaust and upgraded carb), our 1641cc SPM 2, (includes new cylinder heads and camshaft, lightened flywheel and much more besides) or the tremendous 1776cc SPM with its aluminium crankcase, all new VW engine parts (excluding crankshaft, con-rods and rockers), big valve heads and a full flow oil system!
