Bugpack Prothane Engine Mountings

These trick little mountings control unwanted engine movement. Controlling the movement also reduces the vibration and noise. Models available for all popular water-cooled VWs.

Whilst not upto the standard of the Vibra-Technics mounts shown below, these offer a noticeable improvement over stock mounts for the budget conscious modifier.

Vibra-Technics Engine Mounts

Vibra-Technics products are manufactured primarily from natural rubber compounds and occasionally from blends of synthetic and natural rubber to give particular properties for specific applications. Extensive experience and testing in all kinds of enviromental conditions by Automobile manufacturers has shown that only natural rubber compuonds give optimum performance and durabiility (which is why it is still universally used today by every car manufacturer).

Vibra-Technics use a specialist chemical bonding process for when the rubber and metal components need to be attached. This is completed during the moulding process using the latest chemical adhesive systems.

Our rubber to metal bonded products are designed specifically for high performance applications where a direct replacement for the standard mount is required, along with a much higher level of engine control to cope with higher engine outputs, and higher road inputs caused by fast driving.

The fast-road mounts give significant improvements in ride and handling without adversely affecting vibration isolation.

The competition mounts also eliminate clearance problems with strut braces, exhaust systems and body panels etc. They also improve handling whilst still giving vibration isolation at high engine speeds. Competition mounts are not recommended for road use.
